This paper describes the process issues that should be considered during the design of leach and CIP/CIL circuits in order to ensure that these objectives are met. In addition, …

The SGS carbon-in-pulp (CIP) / carbon-in-leach (CIL) modelling packaged is used to: Estimate the performance of a full-scale CIP and CIL plant. Derive the optimum design criteria based on the results of small scale experiments. Powerful design tool that uses results from standard leach and adsorption tests (bottle roll tests) to generate ...
Purchase this Article for $25.00. "Carbon-in-leach (CIL) and carbon-in-pulp (CIP) processes utilize activated carbon to adsorb solubilized gold for recovery. Due to carbon attrition and non-ideal carbon management, however, some of the gold is lost in carbon fines and to the solution. The carbon attrition mechanism inside CIL/CIP reactors …
Cyanide is a lixiviant, or reagent that is used to leach, often in tanks, gold from a solid matrix and form a gold cyanide complex. The gold cyanide complex is then extracted from the pulp or slurry by adsorption onto activated carbon. CIL stands for carbon-in-leach. This is a gold extraction process called cyanidation where ... CIL & CIP …
A semi-empirical model was developed to represent a carbon in leach/carbon in pulp (CIL/CIP) circuit for recovery of gold and silver. The model uses a simple two rate representation of the leaching kinetics. Parameters for the leaching kinetics may be obtained by sampling the feed to a circuit and the tailings from each tank and assaying …
The CIP ( Carbon In Pulp) process is suitable for treating oxidized gold ore with low sulfur and mud content. It is unsuitable for the gold ore with high-grade silver as well. Generally, the proportion of gold and silver should not exceed 1:5. The best conditions for Carbon In Pulp process in China: PH=10-12, sodium cyanide concentration is not ...
A model was developed of a CIL/CIP circuit for recovery of gold and silver. The model uses a simple two rate representation of the leaching kinetics. Parameters for the leaching kinetics may be simply obtained by sampling the feed to a circuit and the tailings from each tank and assaying the solids for both gold and silver to obtain the assay profiles of the …

Highlights Worldwide gold recovery on activated carbon grew from zero to almost 70% in twenty years from 1980. The stellar attributes of carbon gold plants led to complacency in the industry in designing and operating these plants. Most CIP and CIL plants are overdesigned and operated sub-optimally. Optimum design criteria and …

In Part 1 of this paper, the development of a semiempirical model of a carbon in leach (CIL)/carbon in pulp (CIP) plant for recovery of gold and silver was detailed. With appropriate practical parameters, the model was able to reproduce typical tank profiles for gold and silver contained in the solids, solution and active carbon.
To date developments in the simulation of carbon-in-pulp (CIP) adsorption circuits have focused primarily on the modelling of adsorption. This series of three papers descriptionbes a development in a direction that has received less attention, i.e. the need for a detailed descriptionption of the movement of carbon and slurry in continuous CIP …
