I've owned two 400's and they are the freaks of the JD world. Nothing will fit them except 400 implements. I had one with a Johnson 10 loader on it and one with a JD 20, which was essentially a Johnson 12. They have several weak spots and there are no new parts for it that are for the frame and running gear.

The only thing that I can think of is that the check valve in the tank is bad and letting the gas come down back into the tank.
